However, whats even more valuable is the macadamia oil that can be extracted from these nuts for a number of uses. It is clear to slightly amber in color and retains a slightly nutty flavor, as macadamia nuts are quite strong in their flavor.

Help repair scars and stretch marks 

Macadamia oil nourishes the skin and is great at moisturising. Containing high oleic, linoleic and palmitoleic acid, it’s been found beneficial in treating stretch marks, prevent chapping and reduce scars. It has also been known to help smooth and repair dry hair.

Help reduce itchiness and rash 

Macadamia oil contains phytosterols which make it effective at reducing inflammation.  Along with Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, Macadamia oil can help with sensitive skin.  It has been known to decrease the formation of rashes, reduces itchiness helping to ease eczema and psoriasis.

Help prevent premature wrinkles 

The palmitoleic acid and squalene present in macadamia seed oil help to prevent the premature formation of wrinkles by boosting the regeneration of skin keratinocytes. Uses of Macadamia oil

Face moisturizing mask for dry skin

n a glass or plastic container, put the natural Greek yogurt and then add the macadamia oil and the sweet orange essence. Mix for about a minute to allow the ingredients to mix. Spread the mixture evenly over the entire face, paying attention to the delicate area around the eyes. Leave the mask to act for 25 minutes and then rinse with warm water. This treatment can be done once a week

Soothing gel against sunburn

Mix until a homegeneous compound is obtained. Complete the recipe with drops of essential lavender oil. Pour the product into a glass or plastic bottle and keep in a cool and dark place for about 3 months. How to use: you can spread the gel on the affected areas two or three times a day and massage until it is completely absorbed. Before re-using the gel, shake the bottle so that all the ingredients are re-mixed.

Restructuring compress for brittle hair

Macadamia oil, sweet almond oil and coconut oil. Just take a bottle of dark glass and put in equal parts 20ml of each vegetable oil. Finally, you can add 4 drops of essential oil of remineralizing rosemary.

Shake the bottle for a few seconds and the recipe will be ready. Apply a generous amount of product on the hair, from root to tips and leave in place about two hours. Then proceed to a normal wash with a mild neutral shampoo. This compress can be repeated twice a month.

Digestive Issues

Macadamia oil is high in fat, and consuming too much of it may cause digestive issues such as diarrhea, bloating, and stomach discomfort. It is recommended that you consume macadamia oil in moderation and avoid consuming it in large quantities.

Interference with Blood Thinners

Macadamia oil contains vitamin K, which can interfere with the effectiveness of blood thinning medications such as warfarin. If you are taking blood thinners, you should talk to your doctor before consuming macadamia oil.

High in Calories

Macadamia oil is high in calories and fat, with one tablespoon containing around 120 calories and 14 grams of fat. Consuming too much of it may contribute to weight gain and other health problems. It is recommended that you use macadamia oil in moderation and as part of a balanced diet.

May Not be Suitable for Pets

Macadamia nuts and macadamia oil can be toxic to dogs and other animals. Even small amounts can cause symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and lethargy. If you have pets, it is important to keep macadamia nuts and macadamia oil out of their reach.
