Rose Hydrosol
Maybe many people have not known rose hydrosol in detail. Today, I will take you to understand the rose hydrosol from four aspects.
Introduction of Rose Hydrosol
Rose hydrosol is the by-product of essential oil production, and is created from the water that is used to steam distill plant materials. In this process the whole plant is used rather than just the rose petals. When water vapor moves through rose petals, stems, and leaves, it picks up some of the oils along the way. Once the water is cooled and becomes liquid, the condensation is called a rose hydrosol. This distilled water contains the beneficial plant minerals that are left behind, and these are the essential compounds that give rose hydrosol its fame when it comes to its numerous skin benefits.
Rose Hydrosol Effects & Benefits
As opposed to a standard rose water, rose hydrosol maintains the essence of the plant in every drop, and is the purest form of rose water. It is especially produced for quality and is much more likely to retain its natural minerals than rose water. In addition to all of these, it offers mild aromatherapeutic benefits.
- Lifting dirt and oil from the skin (due to their astringent properties)
- Helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines
- Softening and tone the skin
- Soothing irritated, dry skin
- Budget-friendly
Rose Absolute (or Rose Essential Oil) is very expensive. Much more hydrosol can be produced during the distillation process than the essential oil, so it can be sold for less!
- Water-based
Oil and water don’t mix, so when you want to make a lotion or spray using essential oils you need to add more ingredients to get the oil to mix with the water. A hydrosol can replace the water in DIY cosmetic recipes for amazing benefits!
- Smells Amazing
Another benefit of Rose Hydrosol is it smells SO GOOD. I mean, who doesn’t love the smell of roses? Its floral, rosy aroma is calming and uplifting.
- Moisturizing
Rose Hydrosol is moisturizing to the skin. It’s especially helpful in locking in moisture to mature skin, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging. Use it as a toner with your favorite moisturizer to lock in all the goodness and keep your face looking fresh.

ABOUT
Hydrosols or flower waters have different healing properties than aromatherapy spritzers. When making a hydrosol, the plants healing compounds are gathered from a steam distillation process. The smell from a hydrosol is softer than that of a plants essential oil, and they are definitely not as concentrated. They do smell equally as wonderful with their own aromatic benefits and are really easy to make. You can use a hydrosol straight as a face spray, to add to your DIY body-care recipes, or even cook and clean with them. We love them for skincare and hair rinses. They are perfect to use before applying your Face Serum too!
Precautions: Rose hydrosol does not need to be diluted when used on the skin. Rose hydrosol is best for kids aged 2+. If you want to use hydrosols with younger child check out Lavender Hydrosol. Simply Earth Rose Hydrosol is not intended for internal use.
