    Natural Anti-inflammatory

Research shows that three varieties of copaiba oil — Copaifera cearensisCopaifera reticulata and Copaifera multijuga — all exhibit impressive anti-inflammatory activities. (4) This is huge when you consider that inflammation is at the root of most diseases today. (5)

    2. Neuroprotective Agent

A 2012 research study published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine examined how copaiba oil-resin (COR) may have anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective benefits following acute neural disorders when intense inflammation reactions occur including stroke and brain/spinal cord trauma.

Using animal subjects with acute motor cortex damage, the researchers found that internal “COR treatment induces neuroprotection by modulating inflammatory response following an acute damage to the central nervous system.” Not only did the copaiba oil-resin have anti-inflammatory effects, but after just one 400 mg/kg dose of COR (from Copaifera reticulata), damage to the motor cortex was decreased by about 39 percent. (6)

    3. Possible Liver Damage Preventer

A research study published in 2013 demonstrates how copaiba oil may be able to reduce liver tissue damage that is caused by commonly used conventional painkillers like acetaminophen. This study’s researchers administered copaiba oil to animal subjects either before or after they were given acetaminophen for a total of 7 days. The results were quite interesting.

Overall, the researchers found that the copaiba oil reduced liver damage when used in a preventative way (before administration of the pain killer). However, when the oil was used as a treatment after the pain killer administration, it actually had an undesirable effect and increased bilirubin levels in the liver. (7)

    4. Dental/Oral Health Booster

Copaiba essential oil has also proven itself to be helpful in oral/dental health care. An in vitro study published in 2015  finds that a copaiba oil-resin based root canal sealer is not cytotoxic (toxic to living cells). The study authors believe this likely related to the inherent properties of copaiba oil-resin including its biological compatibility, reparative nature and anti-inflammatory properties. Overall, copaiba oil-resin appears to a “promising material” for dental use. (8)

Another study published in the Brazilian Dental Journal copaiba oil’s ability to stop bacteria from reproducing, specifically Streptococcus mutans. Why is this so significant? This type of bacteria is known to cause tooth decay and cavities. (9) So by stopping the reproduction of Streptococcus mutans bacteria, copaiba oil may be useful in preventing tooth decay and cavities.

So the next next time you’re oil pulling, don’t forget to add a drop of copaiba essential oil to the mix!

    5. Pain Helper

Copaiba oil may be able to help with natural pain relief since it has been shown in scientific research to exhibit antinociceptive properties, which means it can help to block the detection of a painful stimulus by the sensory neurons. An in vitro study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology shows the antinociceptive activity of two Amazonian Copaiba oils (Copaifera multijuga and Copaifera reticulata) when administered orally. The results also specifically showed that the Copaiba oils demonstrate a peripheral and central pain-relieving effect, likely making them useful in the treatment of various health disorders that involve ongoing pain management such as arthritis. (10)

When it comes to arthritis in particular, a scientific article published in 2017 points out that case reports have shown that people with joint pain and inflammation who used copaiba reported favorable results. However, extensive research as to copaiba oil’s effect on inflammatory arthritis is still limited to basic research and uncontrolled clinical observations in humans. (11)

    6. Breakout Buster

Copaiba oil with its anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and healing abilities is yet another option for the natural treatment of acne. A double-blind, placebo controlled clinical trial published in 2018 finds the volunteers with acne experienced a “highly significant decrease” in skin areas affected with acne where a one percent copaiba essential oil preparation was used. (12)

To take advantage of its skin-clearing benefits, add a drop of copaiba essential oil to a natural toner like witch hazel or to your face cream.

    7. Calming Agent

While there may not be a lot of studies to prove this use, copaiba oil is commonly used in diffusers for its calming effects. With its sweet, woody scent, it can help ease tensions and worries after a long day or help you wind down before bed.

    How to Use Copaiba Oil

There are many uses for copaiba essential oil that can be enjoyed by employing this oil in aromatherapy, topical application or internal consumption. Is copaiba essential oil safe to ingest? It can be ingested as long as it is 100 percent, therapeutic grade and certified USDA organic.

To take copaiba oil internally, you can add one or two drops to water, tea or a smoothie. For topical use, combine copaiba essential oil with a carrier oil or unscented lotion before applying it to the body. If you want to benefit from breathing in the woodsy scent of this oil, use a few drops in a diffuser.

Copaiba blends well with cedarwood, rose, lemon, orange, clary sage, jasmine, vanilla, and ylang ylang oils.

Copaiba Essential Oil Side Effects & Precautions

Copaiba essential oil side effects can include skin sensitivity when it’s used topically. Always dilute copaiba oil with a carrier oil such as coconut oil or almond oil. To be on the safe side, perform a patch test on a small area of your body before using copaiba essential oil on larger areas. When using copaiba oil, avoid contact with the eyes and other mucous membranes.

Talk to your health care provider before using copaiba oil if you are pregnant, nursing, have an ongoing medical condition or you are currently taking medication.

Always keep copaiba and other essential oils out of the reach of children and pets.

When used internally, especially excessively, copaiba essential oil side effects can include stomach pains, diarrhea, vomiting, tremor, rash, groin pain and sleeplessness. Topically, it may cause redness and/or itching. It’s rare to have an allergy to copaiba oil, but if you do then immediately discontinue use and seek medical attention if needed.

Lithium is known to possibly interact with copaiba. Since copaiba balsam can have diurectic effects taking it along with lithium may decrease how well the body gets rid of lithium. Speak to you healthcare provider before using this product if you are taking lithium or any other prescription and/or over-the-counter medication.

  • Peppermint Essential Oil | Mentha balsamea | Mentha piperita – 100% Natural and Organic Essential Oils

To use peppermint oil for pain relief, simply apply two to three drops topically to the area of concern three times daily, add five drops to a warm bath with Epsom salt or try a homemade muscle rub. Combining peppermint with lavender oil is also a great way to help your body relax and reduce muscle pain.

    2. Sinus Care and Respiratory Aid

Peppermint aromatherapy can help unclog your sinuses and offer relief from a scratchy throat. It acts as a refreshing expectorant, helping open your airways, clear mucus and reduce congestion.

It also is one of the best essential oils for colds, the flu, cough, sinusitis, asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory conditions.

Lab studies show that the compounds found in peppermint oil have antimicrobial, antiviral and antioxidant properties, meaning it may also help fight infections that lead to symptoms involving the respiratory tract.

Mix peppermint oil it with coconut oil and eucalyptus oil to make my homemade vapor rub. You can also diffuse five drops of peppermint or apply two to three drops topically to your temples, chest and back of neck.

    3. Seasonal Allergy Relief

Peppermint oil is highly effective at relaxing muscles in your nasal passages and helping clear out the muck and pollen from your respiratory tract during allergy season. It’s considered one of the best essential oils for allergies because of its expectorant, anti-inflammatory and invigorating properties.

A lab study published in the European Journal of Medical Research found that peppermint compounds displayed potential therapeutic efficacy for the treatment of chronic inflammatory disorders, such as allergic rhinitis, colitis and bronchial asthma.

To help relieve seasonal allergies symptoms with your own DIY product, diffuse peppermint and eucalyptus oil at home, or apply two to three drops of peppermint topically to your temples, chest and back of neck.

    4. Increases Energy and Improves Exercise Performance

For a non-toxic alternative to unhealthy energy drinks, take a few whiffs of peppermint. It helps boost your energy levels on long road trips, in school or any other time you need to “burn the midnight oil.”

Research suggests that it may also help improve memory and alertness when inhaled. It can be used to enhance your physical performance, whether you need a little push during your weekly workouts or you are training for an athletic event.

A study published in the Avicenna Journal of Phytomedicine investigated the effects of peppermint ingestion on exercise performance. Thirty healthy male college students were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. They were given a single oral dose of peppermint essential oil, and measurements were taken on their physiological parameters and performance.

Researchers observed significant improvements in all of the tested variables after ingestion of peppermint oil. Those in the experimental group showed an incremental and significant increase in their grip force, standing vertical jump and standing long jump.

The peppermint oil group also showed a significant increase in the amount of air that is exhaled from the lungs, peak breathing flow rate and peak exhaling flow rate. This suggests that peppermint may have a positive effect on the bronchial smooth muscles.

To boost your energy levels and improve concentration with peppermint oil, take one to two drops internally with a glass of water, or apply two to three drops topically to your temples and back of neck.

  • Amos Premium New White Tea Fragrance Oil 500ml Long Lasting Perfume Oil Diffuser Essential Oil For Scent Machine Reusable Bottle

Amos Premium New White Tea Fragrance Oil 500ml Long Lasting Perfume Oil Diffuser Essential Oil For Scent Machine Reusable Bottle

White tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant just like black tea, green tea and oolong tea. It is one fo the five tea types that are called true teas. Before the white tea leaves open, the buds are harvested for the production of white tea. These buds are usually covered by minuscule white hairs, which lend their name to tea. White tea is mainly harvested in the Fujian province of China, but there are also producers in Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and Thailand.

    Oxidation

True teas all come from the leaves of the same plant, so the difference between teas is based on two things: the terroir (the region in which the plant is grown) and the production process.

One of the differences in the production process of each true tea is the amount of time the leaves are allowed to oxidize. Tea masters can roll, crush, roast, fire and steam leaves to aid in the oxidation process.

As mentioned, white tea is the most minimally processed of the true teas and thus doesn’t undergo a long oxidation process. In contrast to the long oxidation process of black tea, which results in a dark, rich color, white teas simply wither and dry in the sun or a controlled environment to preserve the garden-fresh nature of the herb.

    Flavor Profile

Since white tea is minimally processed, it features a delicate flavor profile with a soft finish and a pale yellow color. It has a slightly sweet flavor. When brewed properly, it doesn’t have any bold or bitter taste. There are several different varietals, which have fruity, vegetal, spicy and floral hints.

    Types of White Tea

There are two main types of white tea: Silver Needle and White Peony. However, there are several other white teas including Long Life Eyebrow and Tribute Eyebrow along with artisanal white teas such as Ceylon White, African White and Darjeeling White. Silver Needle and White Peony are considered to be the most superior when it comes to quality.

    Silver Needle (Bai Hao Yinzhen)

The Silver Needle variety is the most delicate and fine white tea. It consists of only silver-colored buds about 30 mm in length and offers light, sweet flavor. The tea is made using only young leaves from the tea plant. Silver Needle white tea has a golden flush, floral aroma and a woodsy body.

    White Peony (Bai Mu Dan)

White Peony is the second highest quality white tea and has a mixture of buds and leaves. In general, White Peony is made using the top two leaves. White Peony teas have a stronger taste profile than the Silver Needle type. Complex flavors blend flowery notes with a full-bodied feel and a slightly nutty finish. This white tea is also considered a good budget buy in comparison to Silver Needle as it is cheaper and still offers a fresh, robust flavor. White Peony tea is more pale green and gold than it’s pricier alternative.

    Health Benefits of White Tea

    1. Skin Health

Many people struggle with skin irregularities such as acne, blemishes and discoloration. While most of these skin conditions are not dangerous or life threatening, they’re still annoying and can lower confidence. White tea can help you achieve an even complexion thanks to antiseptic and antioxidant properties.

A study by the Kinsington University in London showed that white tea can protect skin cells from damage induced by hydrogen peroxide and other factors. Antioxidant-rich white tea also helps eliminate free radicals that can lead to signs of premature aging including pigmentation and wrinkles. The anti-inflammatory properties of white tea antioxidants can also help to reduce redness and inflammation caused by skin diseases such as eczema or dandruff (1).

Since acne is often caused by pollution and free radical build-up, drinking a cup of white tea once or twice daily can clear up skin. Alternatively, white tea can be used as a cleansing wash directly on the skin. You can also place a white tea bag directly on any trouble spots to speed up healing.

A 2005 study by Pastore Formulations showed that white tea can be beneficial for people who suffer from skin conditions including rosacea and psoriasis. This can be contributed to the epigallocatechin gallate present in white tea which helps produce new cells in the epidermis (2).

White tea contains high amounts of phenols, which can strengthen both collagen and elastin lending a smoother, more youthful appearance to skin. These two proteins are vital in creating strong skin and preventing wrinkles and can be found in a variety of skincare products.

    2. Cancer Prevention

Studies have shown the strong connection between true teas and the potential for preventing or treating cancer. While studies are not conclusive, the health benefits of drinking white tea are largely attributed to the antioxidants and polyphenols on tea. Antioxidants in white tea can help build RNA and prevent the mutation of genetic cells that leads to cancer.

A study in 2010 found that antioxidants in white tea were more effective in preventing cancer than green tea. Researchers used white tea extract to target lung cancer cells in the lab and results demonstrated dose-dependent cell death. While studies are ongoing, these results show that white tea may help stop the proliferation of cancer cells and even contribute to the death of mutated cells (3).

    3. Weight Loss

For many people, losing weight goes beyond just making a New Year’s resolution; it’s a real struggle to shed pounds and live longer and healthier. Obesity is one of the leading contributors to a shorter life span and losing weight is increasingly at the top of people’s priorities.

Drinking white tea can help you achieve your weight loss goals by helping your body absorb nutrients more efficiently and shed pounds more easily by speeding up metabolism. A 2009 German study found that white tea can help burn stored body fat while also preventing the formation of new fat cells. Catechins found in white tea can also speed up digestive processes and help with weight loss (4).

    4. Hair Health

Not only is white tea good for skin, it can also help establish healthy hair. The antioxidant called epigallocatechin gallate has been shown to enhance hair growth and prevent premature hair loss. EGCG has also shown promise when treating scalp skin diseases caused by bacteria that is resistant to common treatments (5).

White tea also naturally protects against sun damage, which can help keep hair from drying out in summer months. White tea can restore hair’s natural shine and is best be used topically as a shampoo if you’re looking to capitalize on shine.

    5. Improves Calmness, Focus and Alertness

White tea has the highest concentration of L-theanine amongst the true teas. L-theanine is known for improving alertness and focus in the brain by inhibiting exciting stimuli that can lead to overactivity. By calming the stimuli in the brain, white tea can help you relax while also increasing focus (6).

This chemical compound has also shown positive health benefits when it comes to anxiety. L-theanine encourages the production of the neurotransmitter GABA, which has natural calming effects. The best part about drinking white tea is you can reap the benefits of increased alertness without the side effects of drowsiness or impairment that comes with prescription anxiety drugs.

White tea also contains a small amount of caffeine that can help jumpstart your day or offer a pick-me-up in the afternoon. On average, white tea contains about 28 mg of caffeine in every 8-ounce cup. That’s far less than the average 98 mg in a cup of coffee and slightly less than the 35 mg in green tea. With lower caffeine content, you can drink several cups of white tea per day without the negative effects that strong cups of coffee can have. You can have three or four cups a day and not worry about feeling jittery or having insomnia.

    6. Oral Health

White tea has high levels of flavonoids, tannins and fluorides that help teeth stay healthy and strong. Fluoride is popularly known as a tool in preventing tooth decay and is often found in toothpastes. Both tannins and flavonoids help to prevent the buildup of plaque that can cause tooth decay and cavities (7).

White tea also boasts antiviral and antibacterial properties that help keep teeth and gums healthy. To get the tooth health benefits of white tea, aim to drink two to four cups per day and re-steep tea bags to extract all of the nutrients and antioxidants.

    7. Help Treat Diabetes

Diabetes is caused by genetic and lifestyle factors and is an increasing problem in the modern world. Fortunately, there are many ways to regulate and control diabetes and white tea is one of them.

Catechins in white tea along with other antioxidants have been shown to help prevent or regulate Type 2 diabetes. White tea effectively acts to inhibit the activity of the enzyme amylase that signals glucose absorption in the small intestine.

In people with Type 2 diabetes, this enzyme breaks down starches into sugars and can lead to blood sugar spikes. Drinking white tea can help regulate those spikes by blocking the production of amylase.

In a 2011 Chinese study, scientists found that regular consumption of white tea lowered blood glucose levels by 48 percent and increased insulin secretion. The study also showed that drinking white tea helped to alleviate polydipsia, which is a severe thirst caused by diseases such as diabetes (8).

    8. Reduces Inflammation

The catechins and polyphenols in white tea boast anti-inflammatory properties that can help relieve minor aches and pains. A Japanese animal study published in the MSSE Journal showed that catechins found in white tea aided in quicker muscle recovery and less muscle damage (9).

White tea also improves circulation and delivers oxygen to the brain and organs. Because of this, white tea is effective in treating minor headaches and aches and pains from working out.

  • Top Quality Natural 100% Pure Sweet Fragrance Essential Oil Clove Basil Oil For Skin Care Candle Making

Top Quality Natural 100% Pure Sweet Fragrance Essential Oil Clove Basil Oil For Skin Care Candle Making

While fresh basil herbs are also beneficial and a great way to flavor recipes, basil essential oil is much more concentrated and potent. The compounds found in basil oil are steam-distilled from fresh basil leaves, stems and flowers to form an extract that contains high levels of antioxidants and other beneficial phytochemicals.

The aromatic character of each type of basil is determined by the plant’s exact genotype and major chemical compounds. Basil essential oil (from sweet basil) is known to contain 29 compounds with the three primary ones being 0xygenated monoterpenes (60.7–68.9 percent), followed by sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (16.0–24.3 percent) and oxygenated sesquiterpenes (12.0–14.4 percent). The reason why there is a range for each active component is due to the fact that the chemical composition of the oil changes according to the season. (2)

According to a 2014 review published by the Department of Phytochemistry at the Indian Council of Medical Research, basil oil has been effectively used as a traditional medicinal plant for the treatment of headaches, coughs, diarrhea, constipation, warts, worms, kidney malfunctions and more. (3The benefits of basil also include the ability to fight bacteria and odors in foods and on skin which is why basil oil can be found in foods, beverages, dental and oral health products as well as fragrances.

Basil oil and holy basil oil (also called tulsi) are different in terms of chemical composition, although they do have some uses in common. Just like sweet basil, holy basil helps fight bacteria, fatigue, inflammation and infections.

    13 Basil Essential Oil Uses

    1. Potent Antibacterial

Basil oil has shown impressive antimicrobial activity against a wide range of food-borne bacteria, yeasts and mold. Researchers have shown that basil oil is effective against a common food born pathogen known as E. coli. (4)

Another study has shown that Ocimum basilicum oils can decrease bacteria due to spoilage and food-borne pathogens when it’s included in the water used to wash fresh organic produce. (5)

You can use basil oil in your home to remove bacteria from kitchens and bathrooms, prevent surface contamination and purify the air. Try diffusing or basil oil or combining it with water in a spray bottle to rub down surfaces in your home. You can also use the spray to clean produce.

    2. Cold and Flu Treatment

Don’t be too surprised if you see basil on a list of essential oils that can help relieve cold and flu symptoms. Reader’s Digest, for example, recently included basil essential oil on that exact type of list and highlighted its “anti-spasmodic qualities that work best if you do a steam inhalation or drink tea made with this.” (6)

So how can basil oil help with a cold or flu case? Both the common cold as well as the flu are caused by viruses and research has shown that basil oil is a natural anti-viral. (7) So it may be surprising but true that basil oil can be used as a natural cold remedy.

If you’re sick, I recommend diffusing the oil throughout your home, add one to two drops to a steam bath, or make a homemade vapor rub using eucalyptus oil and basil oil that can massaged into the chest to open up your nasal passages.

    3. Natural Odor Eliminator and Cleaner

Basil is capable of eliminating odor-causing bacteria and fungus from your home, car, appliances and furniture thanks to its antibacterial and antifungal properties. (8) In fact, the word basil is derived from the Greek sentence that means “to smell.”

Traditionally in India, it’s been used for many culinary applications, including to eliminate odors and clean kitchen equipment. Run several drops through your kitchen appliances; combine it with baking soda to remove stains and bacteria from pots or pans; or spray it inside your toilet, shower and garbage cans.

    4. Flavor Enhancer

You’re probably familiar with how just a couple of fresh basil leaves can majorly enhance a dish. Basil oil can also infuse a wide variety of recipes with its signature aroma and flavor. All it takes is adding one or two drops to juices, smoothies, sauces or dressings in place of using fresh torn basil. In the process, you’ll make your kitchen smell great and reduce the risk for food contamination, too! Now, there’s a win-win situation.

    5. Muscle Relaxant

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, basil oil can help with aching muscles. (9) Useful as a natural muscle relaxer, you can rub a few drops of basil essential oil along with coconut oil into painful, swollen muscles or joints. To further help relax tense areas and feel immediate relief, try soaking in a warm bath with Epsom salts and a couple drops of lavender oil and basil oil.

    6. Ear Infection Remedy

Basil oil is sometimes recommended as a natural ear infection remedy. A study published in The Journal of Infectious Diseases used an animal model to look at the effects of putting basil oil into the ear canals of subjects with middle ear infections. What did they find? The basil oil  “cured or healed” over half of the animal subjects with ear infections due to H. influenzae bacteria compared to about a six percent heal rate in the placebo group.
